We are coming up on St. Patrick's Day, a day that has come to be known for all things lucky. As my grandparents immigrated from Ireland, I will tell you that I was raised on all sorts of superstitions. I will only ever put my right shoe on first. Never the left. NEVER THE LEFT. When I pour a cup of tea, I am well versed in how on the very first sip, you slurp up any bubbles that have formed in the process of pouring. This is your prosperity. You better slurp that up! I don't mind telling you that as I drove to soccer practice during my senior year in high school, I ran over a black cat and I had the absolute worst season of my career.
Luck. Good and bad. It's everywhere.
Do me a favor and think to yourself: What does it mean to have good luck?
Most people can't define it specifically. It boils down to, on any given day, that I will have generally, on average, good things happen to me. Maybe something surprising. We call this luck. I would say this is very similar to abundance and prosperity.
We all want to be prosperous in all areas of our lives. We all want to experience abundance. In short, we all want to have good luck.
I would postulate, and bear with me, that there is no such thing as "luck". My Nanny is going to come back from the afterlife just to slap me in the head for saying such a thing.
As usual, I think it is all energy. Or...let's say 90% of it is. (I'll give you 10%.)
Examples:
- I have known people who have wanted nothing more than to be prosperous but they spent their days acting from a place of lack. They put the energy of not being enough and not having enough out into the Universe. The Universe returned that to them.
- On three occasions, I have watched people incredibly scared of one particular event happening. I watched them put so much of themselves into thinking about the fear and ways to avoid the event. They put so much energy into it, that that's what the Universe returned to them. They manifested their largest fear.
- I saw someone who had no reason to succeed do just that. Someone who did now have the knowledge or the experience but who simply believed that's what they were supposed to do. So the Universe returned that to them.
I have spoken previously about how our thoughts are literally and physically forms of energy. (Science!) Our emotions carry energy as well. What we continually put out into the Universe is generally the types of events that we then attract to ourselves. This is not woo. This is physics. Well, physics and woo mixed together. How about that?
Albert Einstein quotation: "Everything is energy and that's all there is to it. Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality. It can be no other way. This is not philosophy. This is physics."
Many people who grasp for abundance (or prosperity or luck) tend to have armored heart spaces. They have a need to protect themselves from unfortunate events or people. Usually, they have already experienced disappointment in this way so they learn to armor up. Here's the thing: If you are armoring yourself against the negative, you are also armoring against the positive. You can't pick and choose. Armor protects. Regardless. (Speaking from experience!)
This means that when you are armored up, you are preventing abundance and prosperity...and good luck. Our path to experiencing more of these wonderfully fantastic things is to open our heart space and to expand that energy. When we do this, we are putting our energy into positivity, trust, and faith that all good things are already on their way. We believe in those things as much as Ted Lasso believes that tea is gross brown water. When we shift our energy in this way, the Universe returns to us what we put out. Suddenly, by letting go of armor, by not micromanaging the Universe, the Universe returns all the good stuff to us.
It's a process. Let the idea marinate and then see how you feel. In the meanwhile, if you are wanting a boost from crystals, my recommendation is to focus on stones that affect the heart space. Try some of the following:
- Green aventurine
- Kunzite
- Jade
- Prasiolite
- Prehnite
- Serpentine
- Variscite
Good luck, my friends! In honor of my most lovely grandparents, an Irish Blessing that my grandfather would have enjoyed: "As you slide down the bannister of life, may the splinters never point the wrong way."
